Your support is vital to the success of AFrI's work.
You can support us in two ways:
1) Get involved in AFrI's campaigns work. Campaigns, which
AFrI is actively involved in at present, are:
- The 'Just a Second!' Campaign - suitable for school involvement.
- Lifting the economic sanctions on Iraq
- Highlighting the growing involvement of Irish companies
in the international arms trade.
- Protesting at taxpayers money being used, by way of government
grants, from either the IDA or IDB for Irish based companies
involved in the international arms trade.
- Protesting to Taoiseach Bertie Ahern regarding his government's
failure to grant a referendum concerning Ireland's membership
of PfP, despite a pre-election manifesto pledge to do so.
- Raising awareness and voicing concern over Ireland's increasing
involvement in the European Unions so called "Defence and
Security" policywhich is increasing Ireland's involvement
in the arms trade and eroding Ireland's historical independent
non-aligned stance.
What you can do:
- Send letters or e-mails to the relevant government representative
outlining your concerns in relation to the above issues.
(See GET ACTIVE section of
this website)
- Start a petition in your workplace, school or amongst
your friends and family and send it to AFrI where we will
compile all the signatures for each campaign.
- Come along to AFrI organised street protests and show
your support by standing in solidarity with the people being
effected by injustice. For more information on planned events
contact the AFrI office.
2) AFrI is a very small and badly funded non-governmental
organisation. Our financial situation is always precarious!
We would warmly welcome any financial contributions that you
could make to help us continue our work. You can do this by
setting up a standing order to AFrI via your bank account or
by posting your contribution to:
